Each event and venue is unique and brings individual questions. Here we want to provide you with some answers to questions that our clients have frequently asked over the years:
What are the costs involved?
The cost varies depending on the line-up and duration of the performance. Simply send us an inquiry with the specifics of your event and we'll promptly respond with a quote. We're happy to advise you and recommend a suitable package for your event. The quote includes musician fees, organization, sound system and travel expenses.
How long does the band play?
For a typical performance we plan for approximately 3 hours. This usually consists of 3 sets of around 45 minutes each with a 15-minute break in between. However, we can discuss and adjust these times according to your event's needs.
How much space does the band need?
Depending on the lineup (trio, quartet or quintet) our space requirements vary. For the smallest trio setup plan for at least 2 x 2 meters. For a quartet approximately 3 x 3 meters is ideal and for a Quintet around 3 x 4 meters.
Does the band perform at outdoor events?
Yes we enjoy performing at outdoor events. Please ensure there is a rainproof area available or have sufficient and quickly deployable coverings in case of sudden weather changes. Our instruments are valuable and can be damaged by moisture.
Is the band mobile?
In the trio line-up with guitar (saxophone, guitar, bass) we can change locations with a short setup time. For vocals we require a sound system which is not mobile. We've found various solutions for mobile setups in many different settings.
Can I choose a specific line-up?
We're delighted to provide individual advice on line-up choices. Depending on space availability and the type of event an instrumental line-up or one with vocals may be more suitable.
For what locations can I book the band ?
The main office of JAZZ & SODA is situated in Vienna but there is a second location in Innsbruck from where the band operates. For events within a radius of 100 km around Vienna or Innsbruck travel expenses are included and we don't need accommodation. We also like to play events more fare away but than travel expenses will be charged in our offer and we need accommodation at the event location.
Does the band play dance music?
We perform well-known Pop and Rock songs with lounge-jazz arrangements ensuring there's something for every music enthusiast to enjoy dancing to. While we can get the party going please note that JAZZ & SODA isn't a typical party band and doesn't include Schlager or Austrian Folk music in our repertoire.
Does the band bring its own sound system?
Yes we provide our own sound system which is included in the price. It's suitable for events of medium size comfortably accommodating up to approximately 150 people. If you're planning an event with a larger stage or venue we recommend hiring an external technical company. In such cases, we can provide our technical requirements in the form of a “technical rider” to the hired company.
Can I use the sound system for speeches and play my own music during breaks?
Absolutely! We can provide a microphone for your speeches and you're welcome to play your own music through our system during breaks. We have cables with mini-jack connectors (3.5 mm) ready for connecting your mobile phones, iPads or laptops with a length of 5 meters. Please remember to bring the appropriate adapter for your playback device.
Does the band also have a DJ?
We can arrange an additional DJ to complement the live band and provide party music for your event. Depending on the event size, it may be advisable to also hire an external sound system.
